An Ode to You
I was broken.
Fallen to my knees
Not a whisper for me
Just the sad, cold breeze.
And there you stood
A finger's touch away
Bandaging my wounds
Lighting up a dark day.
The night I spent awake
My pen crying its blue tears
My eyelids heavy as my burden
Heart not as strong as it appears.
You were there for me that day.
Your beats mimicked my heart.
And as I fought Morpheus
You took me to a world apart.
Your piano sounds like a carnival,
Your guitar makes me gently weep.
So, I don't really care what I sow.
End of the day, you're what I reap.
The skies went from cloudy to clear
The darkness hid, for how long?
But you remained, there came the sun
"It's all right" - nothing was wrong.
The night is nigh
It crosses the sky.
Yesterday came suddenly,
To say goodbye.
But you were still there,
Strumming my pain with your fingers.
The beat goes on,
And so do the singers.
If you still don't know who "you" is
I really do pity you.
If you've never known that support,
At the end of suffering, comfort anew.
Still have no idea?
Fine, I'll try to help.
Put on your headphones
And know yourself.
