Towards the End
The carriage had taken him far enough
Through all roads-smooth and rough
All through the path he had cried and laughed.
But now it was time for him to depart
Depart-from the mortal world.
It was time to leave for the unknown
To leave behind the seeds he had sown
He would leave the world now all alone
He didn't think of jobs undone
Looking right into the path before him, to be gone.
A haunting thought crossed his mind.
Did he leave a good impression behind?
Would they remember him for long enough?
Through all the roads smooth and rough
The carriage had travelled far enough.
