Introduction

Welcome, my fellow authors, to this blog known as 'The Quill of Authors'. Come take a seat. No, no we won't charge anything from you. No money, no GST from..... *cough* *cough*, sorry about that we only need one thing: any piece of creative writing.

The main aim of this blog is simple to bring out the colour of writing instilled in you. You might have been writing for a long time. Maybe you're now 15 years old and you have started writing say at 11.

But you are only dissatisfied with one thing---what's the use of writing when no one other than me is reading it? No one praising it other than me? No one getting tearful, a pained-from-laughter stomach, scared other than me? And soon you give up. Thus ends your journey of writing.
Take this example. I have been writing poems and short stories for 6 years now. Back in 2015, I began writing down poems. After a few months I left it for no one was basically interested in my writings and the same questions started to haunt my mind.

But my friend---the founder of this blog---saw that a seed was about to grow---and I was inhibiting it unnecessarily. So one fine day he tells me to write a short story----my first----where the plot revolves around a crazy man who tries to kill a rat. Soon I started out various genres and thanks to him I'm now one of the writers in this group. You know me by the name of Monsieur Macabre.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that: Don't ever give up. Remember that not all people can write. Majority of the people turn out to work in other professions. However the arts group has very few skilled personnel, one of them being the art of writing. So if you ever think that you are not doing good by writing, think again. Maybe its just that your style of writing needs to be matured---just like what happened to me a month ago.

Finally my fellow writers, I request you to write and give your creative pieces of work in this website. Remember what you write is what you want to express. That's what we need. We need more people to express themselves and the best way to do so is by writing.

Therefore, I end with a quote of the American Poet Ezra Pound from his book 'How to Read'

''Great literature is simply language charged with meaning to the utmost possible degree''

Thank you and keep writing!

Welcome to this journey!!
