Apology

I have returned, my mother

With high hopes for you

to listen to my apology.

Oh – don’t turn me away, mother!

Everyone has abandoned me,

For my present poor state,

All have forgotten – 

Except you, my mother!

I have no wishes,

Just to lie at your feet,

And then – my wish less being,

Will want no more than myself calling you – Mother!

If thou dost don’t keep me,

Where will I call ‘home’?

Where my feet shall tread,

While shedding the tears of apology?

Now, nothing lies ahead of me,

Except the dark, terrifying night…

I have come once again

To apologize – oh my Mother!

I promise to be a good lad,

But don’t turn me away – Mother!
