Rainlied
(Based on Rabindranath Tagore’s song, ‘ওই যে ঝড়ের মেঘের’)
Over there – in the wild thunderclouds,
The rain arrives – in full independence,
O! How she bellows with her fury!
That rain sings a melody,
Which reverberates in the tree of Nature.
Fruits, flowers bow to her Majesty,
While dancing in its sweet harmony.
The eyes of thy being,
Drift away to that phantasy,
It loses itself,
In the shadowy distance…
Suddenly, in the wet winds,
I hear, someone calling out to me,
In this day of utter loneliness,
The heart raises a storm of pain!
The rain still sings,
Over there – in the frenzy thunderclouds,
While the trees dance,
Oscillating in the harmony.
