Dear Zindagi

When nothing seems true or fair

When life often halts

You think you‘re in an evil’s lair

And start measuring your emotions,

Weighing every moment with caution.

But still have a one true love

To hold your hand in the dark, Transforming your heart into a free dove;

Then you stop with glee

To say - love you Zindagi !

When you roam among the stars

With deep and bleeding wounds

Then your mother’s hug heals your scars,

And you realise that she

Helped you to love Zindagi !

The sweet affection of your pet dog

After long, separated days;

Erodes the inner dizziness and fog

And stops you momentarily,

To thank and love Zindagi !

So when you rise from the ground

To the glamour of success;

Then you feel happy and proud

To get the message given to you

That Zindagi loves you too!
