On a Moonlit Night...
(Based on ‘Allegretto’ from ‘Piano Sonata No.14
“Moonlight”’ by Ludwig Van Beethoven)
The moon
shines bright,
On a night
like this…
Where the
lake glistens
In the
white spotlight…
Makes me
wonder of
some past,
where I have been…
Surroundings
are still,
Like a blissful
dream…
Thoughts get
scattered…
Wanders off
to some sky
Of some
lost past,
Now shadowed…
The moon
shines bright,
The breeze
whispers
In the great
oak trees…
The leaves
rustle of
some
long-lost romance…
Time flies
by…
With it,
the fantasies
So long ago,
now
felt by me
On this
moonlit night…
The moon
shines bright
The still
lake glistens…
While I
lull off to sleep…
And
dreaming fantasies…
Suddenly,
the gentle tap
of someone
arises me
I look up
in a daze, but
find no one…
Then I see
her…
Standing by
the lake,
Looking
thin and pale,
She had
returned…
She had returned,
She – whom I
had lost so many
ages ago.
She – with whom
I shared
Sunny afternoons,
She – who
is now lost
In my
memories…
She now
calls me
As she disappears
within the trees,
But my feet
– they seemed to be
tied,
rendering me of my movement!
Oh, love,
please don’t go away!
Thou hast
been searching for you since that forgotten day!
And then, I
jolt up with a start
Forehead
covered with sweat,
And realize
it was all but a dream…
The moon shines
brightly
still, on
the quiet lake,
The oak
trees whisper
the words
from those lost days…
The air
feels sweet,
As it flows
past by me…
Me – who got
a glimpse
of that
past fantasy…
Will she ever
come back?
Will she ever
meet me?
Questions
haunt me still,
And so, having
no answer to them,
I sigh, and
look up to the moon.
It still
shines,
Shines upon
the quiet lake,
And perhaps,
maybe someday,
I’ll find
my lost sweetheart again,
Beside the
lake, beneath the trees,
Again, on a
night like this…
On a moonlit
night…
