Onomatopoeic Vivace

(Based on ‘Vivace’ from ‘Piano Sonata No.25 “Cuckoo” ’ by Ludwig Van Beethoven)

Bees buzz,

Butterflies flutter,

Circling the flowers in glee

Dogs bark,

Sheep bleat,

As they get chased by the master’s freund…

The air whiffs,

The breeze whispers

Some unknown conversation between lovers…

Children giggle and chatter

On the fields of the afternoon sun…

Raindrops pitter patter,

On the leaves as they fall,

Lightning crackles, as

the mighty thunder rumbles.

Waves crash against the

Mighty and rowdy rocks,

While the breeze makes the emerald

Leaves rustle in the trees…

Acorns tumble, plop down

On the muddy puddle,

The pigs grunt, as they

Come out, and dance

in the muddy area,

While sunlight reflects off the trees…

The horses neigh,

As they gallop in the sweet meadows…

The geese cackle, as they waddle

Across the clear and still pond…

The cats purr, content,

With the balls of wool they get,

The lions roar, asserting

their dominion over everyone…

The rooster gives out its call,

‘Cock-a-doodle-doo!’

Signalling off the new day,

In the misty morning…

The pigeons coo, as they fly

In the sky above, their mighty teams,

Dominates the sky…

The birds chirp about, as they

kiss the sweet and melodious air…

Wrens warble, zebras whoop,

Whooping down the vast savannah…

The stallions clip clop, striding about

Their pride swells up their hearts…

The frogs ribbit, hopping

From one lily pad to the other

Their green skins shine as the Sun

shoots its rays towards ’em!

‘Squeak, squeak!’ goes the mouse,

Scurrying all about the floor…

‘Honk, honk!’ go the geese,

As they swim in their pride lands…

Now, as the night falls,

The wolves give their cry,

‘Awo-ooo-oooo!’

The dogs follow their suit

Oh, what a terrible cacophony!

Soon enough, the Sun rises

And the bees start to buzz again,

The butterflies flutter about in joy,

Circling the flowers in glee.
